Twice in a row, Apple has now won the “best selling Tech Product’ award for the iPhone.
While Apple managed to sell a total of 211 million of its hottest product last year, it managed to sell over 223 million iPhone unites this year as was predicted by analyst Daniel Ives.

Apple achieved this feat for a second year running, 2016 and 2017, for all the iPhone model it sold collectively in a fiscal year.
But all in all, Apple sold more iPhones total, although less than the peak year of 2015, when it moved 230 million units. (That was the year of the iPhone 6, a redesign that brought a bigger iPhone to consumers for the first time and enthralled the public.)
Ives thinks Apple will have an even bigger 2018, with a spring update to its compact SE iPhone and more new phones in the fall. Out of the billion-plus consumer base of the iPhone, “350 million of them will upgrade next year,” says Ives.
Ives also talked about Apple Watch as a product that has now found a “comfortable” place in the wearable market,. and credits the LTE Series 3 variantas the update that makes it less dependent on the iPhone. Ives also mentioned the the improvement in battery life on series 3, ongoing discounts for older models, and the fact that Apple mainly markets the Apple Watch as a fitness & workout gadget rather than as a fashion accessory.
Mobile analytics firm, Flurry, termed iPhone & iPad as the most liked items gifted around the world for holidays. Device activations from December 19 to December 25 analyzed by Flurry showed that 44 percent of new device activations were for Apple products.
