VOXI is a new brand launched by Vodafone exclusively for younger people. For under 25s only, VOXI allows for endless data on selected social media apps such Facebook, Facebook Messenger, Instagram, WhatsApp, Pinterest, Snapchat, Twitter and Viber (these apps may change from time to time). Using these does not affect the user’s data allowance but there needs to be data left on the plan for the endless data to function.
According to research, 16-24 year olds in the UK spend around 5 days a month on Facebook and check Snapchat 22 times a day so the notion of endless data will be a relief for many young people (and/or their parents!).
Dan Lambrou, Head of VOXI, said: “Why should young people make do with the same mobile plans as everyone else when they use their phones differently and often can’t access the best deals? We’ve worked with hundreds of people aged 25 and under, and have really listened to them. We created VOXI, a transparent new mobile service that gives our audience a platform to connect to the things that matter to them, whatever they’re into.”
VOXI offers various 30-day 4G plans: £10 for 2GB data, £15 for 5GB data and £20 for 15GB data. Users are notified when 80% and 100% of their data plan has been used. If they run out of data, unlimited access to the social media and chat apps above will pause until more data is bought. VOXI SIMs can be ordered for free from the website and there’s no need to sign a contract so users can opt out or pause their phone use.
Additionally, VOXI will soon be adding video and music streaming passes to allow for endless data for video and music streaming apps such as Netflix and Spotify. Users will also have the benefit of endless data roaming across the EU, including in non-member countries such as Switzerland and Turkey.
